Munroe island

Located at the confluence of the Ashtamudi lake and the Kallada river.Accessible by roads,rails, and in-land water navigation.About 25km from kollam city via road.It has its name in the honor of British resident Colonel.John Munro.It’s a tourism puller because of village tourism speciality which was brought into by DTPC.There are lake cruises,mouth watering fish fry,curry,etc from the small restauranst therein which feels so homely.
Also,resorts are available for tourists to stay.The beauty of a village can be seen there from fish farming to coconut coir weaving.
